Pearland is located in Brazoria, Fort Bend and Harris Counties along the Gulf Coast area of Texas, just minutes from Houston. The population as of 2008 is estimated to be about 90,000 residents, and was rated as the 10th fastest growing city in Texas. Much of Pearland’s economy is dependent on minor industry companies but mostly education and shopping centers. The largest employer in the area is the Pearland Independent School District and the local Wal-Mart.

Much of Pearland is residential and is considered to be one of the fastest growing suburbs in the Houston area. There are several communities in the area called master planned communities including Silverlake, Sunrise Lakes and Shadow Creek Ranch. Residents living in Pearland use Interstate 45 and several highways for easy commuting. For those who enjoy a round of golf, there are plenty of golf courses in the area including Country Place Country Club and Gulfcrest Country Club.
